Join us for the 2018/19 Season!
Sunday, November 18, 2018 8:30 p.m.
Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, Carnegie Hall
Members of the Durham Philharmonic Choir will be traveling to New York City this month to participate in a choral festival with up to 250 choristers from across North America. The weekend festival involves rehearsals and workshops, and will conclude with a performance with orchestra at Carnegie Hall on Sunday, November 18.
“It’s certainly and exciting opportunity for our group – we were thrilled to receive the invitation last spring after their talent coordinators found out about us and the fact that we have performed some of the music in previous years” says the DPC director Bob Phillips who adds that “we are anxious to learn and perform 2 new works by rising American composer Randol Bass – one of the works will be a world premiere”.
Distinguished Concerts International – New York host the event and is one of several they present each year featuring the music of prominent composers. This year’s event features Christmas music by Randol Bass, and the Durham Philharmonic Choir and orchestra will be performing some of the music from the festival at it’s Christmas Concert on Sunday, Dec 9 at 3pm at College Park Church.
